**WARNING** Partisan blogging in ...3 ...2 ...1.
Seriously.
I have never claimed to be political or politically correct, but the GOP is completely embarrassing themselves(itself?).
How can you wish the country to fail? "I hope this all goes to shit so they'll see they really need us"? That's a mature avenue to take when you just recently wasted your chance to be needed.
You also had your chance to sway our wandering votes back to you, I for one did NOT vote for Obama because he was half black(the other half is cracker, btw GOP) or because I was upset with Bush. You can not scream "four more years" at a guy when he can't even be re-elected again anyway then tell us you guys just lost your way a bit.... 8 g.d. years. Now you have the black version of Mr. Rodgers trying to "apply conservative principles to urban suburban hip-hop settings". Cause there is nothing rich old white guys care about more than poor black baby daddies. There is a (republican) old white guy at my office who constantly refers to my black boss as "dog". You can tell it's uncomfortable for both parties.
Don't get me wrong, I was a Republican ...When I was young and didn't know any better. And as I stated in my recent letter to Texas State Senator John Cornyn(R) "I have been embarrassed by the GOP but congratulate them on being even louder and more obnoxious with their small stake in both houses of government."
Seriously.

Wow you have seen the light. Democrats may not have the answers but the GOP does not either, but they so think they do. Hope they get your message. Hope you are fine too.
Interesting take. No GOP'er, Rush Limbaugh included, ever wished the country to fail. On the contrary. The savior Obama is banking on the country to fail (notice his "stimulus", spending, and every speech he makes causes the stock market to tank) so he can institute his "transformation" (his word, not mine) of America.
The infamous "I hope he fails" was said in this context -- If he is intent on bringing socialism to America, destroying the free market, nationalizing industry and health care, etc... then I hope he fails.
That is a FAR cry from hoping the country fails. On the contrary. The hope of conservatives is that the free market will, as it always has, rebound WITHOUT government intervention. So far, the more intervention, the worse things have gotten.
I am thrilled that you are, at a young age, interested in politics, and agree that the Repubs blew it. They blew it by abandoning conservative principles and spending like Democrats.
However, you cannot still be drinking the kool-aid after Pelosi/Reed promised to "drain the swamp" and all they are doing is rolling in the mud. Obama has so far broken his promise to allow all bills to be read by the people for 5 days (not even Congress got to read the "stimulus" bill), he is claiming that disaster and calamity will befall us unless we do everything he says, he's about to throw Israel to the wolves, YOUR taxes are going to go up no matter what he says -- you might get 13.00 more in a paycheck, but cap & trade will double your electric bill, gasoline taxes are due to increase (you drive, don' t you?) and his promise of "transparency" is laughable. It's not transparency if you make it available after the voting.
Start paying CLOSE attention. The GOP has shot themselves in the foot, for sure, and hopefully they will find their values again. But of course, since Pelosi won't let them bring ideas to the floor for debate (stimulus bill) -- it's hard to blame them for all voting against it. Bipartisanship, in Obama/Pelosi/Reid land means "agree with us or else". We've elected a radical leftist to our highest office and he thinks he has mandate to steamroll over everyone. It hasn't even been 3 months and he's made a bad situation unbelievably worse. Even the Dems are starting to smell it. Stay tuned, you are living in interesting times.
I appreciate your input, but hey, get your own blog!
But honestly, even when I was Repub I could see how Rush rarely said anything IN context. He, and many others, on all sides, abuse their freedom of speech rights.
Hey Sarah
